Let the wind blow

It was supposed to be a beautiful day in the valley today before a cold front rolled in tonight so we decided we were going to load all seven children into the Expedition and head up Butterfield Canyon and have a weenie roast and make some smores. So, I rolled out of bed at 7:00am and braved the 8 am WalMart rush for supplies(yes, there IS an 8 am WalMart rush believe it or not) and rushed back home and out we headed only to get to the canyon entrance to find it had yet to open up after being closed for winter. Ugh... so, the kids were disappointed and on top of that disappointment, the winds had picked up tremendously so, no matter where we tried to go, we wouldnt be able to get a fire started for roasting. So we headed home and cooked hot dogs and smores in our kitchen. Since we live right next to Utah Lake, we did take the kids down to the marina and let them blow around the boat ramps for a while. So the day was salvaged a bit.

I love this picture of Morgan and Hannah.. It always amazes me how much pure joy you can see on a childs face!

Hunter and his sisters... he is such an amazing brother. These little girls couldnt ask for a better brother to help take care of them and I couldnt ask for a better son!

Reddy and the boys...

It looks like the girls were really having a serious conversation here.. good thing I didnt interupt them to take this picture!

Sisters... They are so lucky to have one another!

You can see in these pictures why we couldnt have gotten a fire started anywhere! The wind was horrible! I was afraid for these little girls when they were standing out on the docks!

God must be giggling....

There really must be a reason God decided to make our teeth fall out at once but I really haven't decided what it is. It certainly wasn't for the sake of beauty! Maybe just to get a giggle every now and then? And to make matters worse, Hannah insists on singing this little song that consists of words that mainly start with the letter "t"! It is great! Morgan is missing most of her teeth too! She is at her Moms for Spring break but as soon as she is home, I will post her most recent picture too! They are quite the pair!

Brockley the WonderDog Part 2

In addition to assuring himself he can catch his shadow, Brock is delusional and insists if he tries hard enough he can catch the sprinkler spray as well! Good luck with that, Brock!

Happy what shouldve been your birthday to you!

Yesterday, April 9, was actually Oaklands due date - had he not been so impatient and arrived over five weeks early! Our little Okie turned six weeks old yesterday and when I took him to the doctor on Monday, he weighed in at a chunky 8lbs 2 oz (he was 5lbs 13oz at birth). Way to chunk up, my little monkey!

2/28/08 Arriving early and getting ready to be transported to the University of Utah.

3/6/08 - Off the ventilator and oxygen and enjoying a little tummy time
3/8/08 - Wow! Is that bed head or what?

3/19/08 - Leaving the hospital and heading home 4/8/08 - Viola! And here we have the finished product.. Our rapidly growing chunky monkey, Oakland Bennett Curran

Introducing Brock the wonder dog!

Hello! My name is Brock the wonder dog!

We have been looking for a dog for sometime and came upon an ad on KSL last night for the sweetest Boxer named Brock! We ran into West Jordan last night at 10:00 pm to see if he would be the dog we have been looking for... he is all that and more!

Brock is a year old and kisses on demand! He knows all his commands and best of all, he is a shadow boxer... no literally, he boxes his shadow! He chased his shadow on the fence for a good fifteen minutes last night and whenever he sees a shadow on the ground, he tries to step on it! It is the funniest thing you have ever seen!
Emma-kate loving Brock - if he can tolerate little Emmy, he must truly be a wonder dog!

The kids love him and he seems to really enjoy the kids. He and Emma-Kate ran through the house all day today and Brock seems to really have a fondness for Oakland. Besides sniffing Oaklands hair CONSTANTLY and trying to give him kisses, he stands on our bed and watches Oakland in the cradle. It seems he just periodically feels the need to make sure Oakland is doing ok and then he goes on about his business.
Brock sniffing an unsuspecting Oakland

Yeah Brock! We are soooo excited you chose us for your family!

Playing Dress Up!

Emma-Kate will someday be a TRUE fashion icon!

Hannah dressed in her finest

Morgan is looking pretty fancy until you scroll down and get to the shoes

Someday they will be those old crazy single ladies who wear fancy dresses and crazy hats and have a kazillion cats!

My girl can shake it with the best of them

My girls love to play dress up! They make such beautiful princesses - especially when we go to Mom's and they wear old prom dresses! They certainly are gorgeous! Especially Emma-Kate who I am almost certain will someday have her own fashion line!

Easter 2008

I know.. Easter was two weeks ago but I am a little slow pulling these pics off my camera. After being so rudely ditched by Katie and Mistie, we had our niece - Crystal- and her family over. Our friend Tim also showed up with his girls for our Easter Egg Hunt. All in all, it was a good day and the kids had alot of fun!
Before our photo session, Jack puked on himself and Oakland puked and peed while he was posing... so, we decided it was time for a much needed bath!
The giant and the dwarf
The giraffe and the itty bitty hippo!

Awwhh! A giant giraffe!

Our family has grown by two feet!

We had an impromptu photo session at Katie's house today and here are the results:

Oakland simultaneously puked and peed at the same time!

These are their most recent mug shots!

Oakland and Jack waiting so patiently while we baked a cake!

The last picture we took turned out to be the best one!

Kids say the darndest things!!!

Everyone knows that our little Emma-Kate is quite the child!! Her newest revelation is that she lives in "Ketchup and Ranch".... After a day at her preschool, I asked Emma-Kate what she learned about that day. She said the states. I asked her where she lived. She promptly answered with "Ketchup and Ranch". We all giggled and just thought she was being the Emma-Kate we have love. However, it was only after a recent conversation where she repeated where she lives that I asked her, "Who said you live in Ketchup and Ranch?". She replied that I had said it.... it was then that I realized she had misunderstood when I was telling her that we lived in Jacob's Ranch, our subdivision! Only Emma-Kate would come up with Ketchup and Ranch!
